Last Saturday our teams had the honor of participating in the "Doug Owen Memorial" Invite at Pleasant Grove High School in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Ten years ago my high school coach passed and this meet is in his honor. He had a profound effect on my life and my oldest son carries his name. Our boys and girls team had a fantastic time honoring this great man through their running and had an unforgetable trip. Some highlights included a BYU vs. Air Force football game, a ride down the 60 MPH bob-sled run at the Olympic Park in Park City (site of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games), visits to state historical sites, and of course, the race itself. Results are being mailed but our boys won while our girls placed second. The boys were led by senior Antonio Dorado in first overall with a new course record. The girls were led by sophomore Jovita Trujillo in 2nd overall also going under the old course record.
